2, 3 or 4-Day Tres Chimbadas Lake Tour

Day 1

Pickup will be arranged at the airport or your accommodation in Puerto Maldonado, proceeding to the Ese Eja de Infierno indigenous community along the Tambopata River. Learn about their way of life and sustainable practices.

We will then take a boat to Tres Chimbadas Lake to observe alligators, turtles, and capybaras. After settling in at the lodge, a hike through the Amazon rainforest will reveal monkeys, squirrels, and exotic birds. Enjoy lunch at the lodge, followed by a paddle boat ride to observe birds like shanshos, needle ducks, kingfishers, and herons. The day concludes with dinner and a night walk to see local amphibians, insects, and reptiles.

Day 2

Start early with a visit to the natural viewpoint of Tres Chimbadas Lake for a sunrise. After breakfast at the lodge, a boat ride back to Puerto Maldonado will conclude the tour.

3 or 4-day tour

On the 3-day tour, follow up with an ethnobotanical walk to learn about medicinal plants, and later try to catch piranhas. Wrap up the day with a night canoe ride on Tres Chimbadas Lake.

The 4-day tour includes a visit to La Torre clay lick to observe macaws, parrots, and parakeets. Following breakfast on board, visit a farm for insights on product cultivation. The day involves a hike through a chestnut tree area, concluding with dinner at the lodge.
