2, 3 or 4-Day Tres Chimbadas Lake Tour

Day 1

Pickup is arranged at the airport or your accommodation in Puerto Maldonado. We visit the Ese Eja de Infierno indigenous community along the Tambopata River to learn about their way of life and sustainable practices. Next, a boat ride takes us to Tres Chimbadas Lake, where we can see alligators, turtles, and capybaras.

Upon arrival at the lodge, we will hike through the Amazon rainforest to observe monkeys, squirrels, and birds, followed by lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, we enjoy a paddle boat ride on the lake, observing various bird species. Dinner is served at the lodge, followed by a night walk to explore amphibians, insects, and reptiles.

Day 2

We begin early with a visit to the natural viewpoint of Tres Chimbadas Lake for a sunrise. After breakfast at the lodge, we take a boat ride back to Puerto Maldonado, concluding the tour.

3 or 4-day tour

On the 3-day tour, after breakfast on the second day, we will have an ethnobotanical walk to learn about medicinal plants, followed by local fishing practices including piranha fishing. The day ends with a night canoe ride on Tres Chimbadas Lake for black alligator sightings.

On the 4-day tour, the third day includes an early trip to La Torre clay lick to see macaws, parrots, and parakeets. We visit a farm for breakfast and learn about product cultivation. The afternoon involves hiking through towering chestnut trees, followed by dinner at the lodge.
