Lake Sandoval Amazon Trek

We'll pick you up from your hotel and head to the Tambopata National Reserve, located just a 10-minute drive away.

Once there, we'll cross what is considered the gateway to the southern Amazon rainforest. Ready for the hike? We'll cover about 3 km (1.8 mi) of trail on foot. During the trek, we'll have the opportunity to see monkeys and snakes up close.

Like true explorers, we'll make our way through the Amazonian flora, encountering macaws and even falcons. The trail will lead us to Lake Sandoval, the most idyllic spot in the Tambopata National Reserve.

We'll board a canoe to explore Lake Sandoval and, from the water, we'll greet unique species such as river otters and black caimans. After the trip, we'll head to a local restaurant to enjoy a lunch of chicken, rice and mushrooms.

With our stomachs full, we'll return to Puerto Maldonado, where we'll accompany you to your hotel 8 hours later to conclude the trek through the jungle and Lake Sandoval.

What you will do: Experience a full-day adventure trekking through the rainforest and exploring Lake Sandoval.

Detailed Information: The trek includes a 3 km hike through the Tambopata National Reserve, followed by a canoe excursion on Lake Sandoval where various wildlife can be observed.
