On this 2 or 4-day visit to the Loero Amazonian community, you'll assist in the daily responsibilities of a local family in the Amazon jungle.

Loero Amazonian Community Multi-Day Visit

2-day visit

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the airport in Puerto Maldonado or your hotel, you'll be transferred to the community of Loero. You'll assist your hosts with tasks such as cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting. The first day focuses on planting fields with local crops like papaya, corn, banana, or cassava, followed by enjoying traditional food.

Day 2

After breakfast, you'll pick fruit from the fields. Depending on the departure time of your bus or flight, additional activities like fishing in the Amazon River may be available before transfer to the airport, bus station, or hotel.

4-day visit

Days 1-2

The itinerary for days one and two is the same as the 2-day tour. After lunch on the second day, you can go fishing in the Amazon River or swim.

Day 3

This day focuses on visiting other farming families and the Tambopata Corridor, which includes a rescue center for Amazonian fauna and viewpoints. Learn about the use of medicinal plants and optionally participate in an ayahuasca ceremony.

Day 4

Conclude your stay with a farewell to the local family before transfer to the airport or hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

Accommodation

The tour includes 1 or 3 nights of full-board accommodation in a local family home, with prices per person in a double room.

Important

Arrival time: Arrive in Puerto Maldonado by 7 am or book a hotel for the night before. The journey to Loero takes about 2 hours.

Departure time: The return transfer is four hours before your flight or three hours before bus departure. On the 2-day tour, flights should be booked after 4 pm to allow time for activities. On the 4-day tour, this is not a concern as there are no scheduled activities on the fourth day.
