Loero Amazonian Community Multi-Day Visit

2-day visit

Day 1

Upon your arrival at the airport in Puerto Maldonado or your hotel, you will be transferred to the community of Loero where you'll be welcomed by a local family. You'll assist in daily activities, including cultivating, fertilizing, and harvesting. The first day focuses on planting local crops such as papaya, corn, banana, or cassava, ending with a traditional meal.

Day 2

After breakfast, the morning will involve picking fruit. Depending on your bus or flight schedule, you may fish in the Amazon River before your return transfer to the airport, bus station, or hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

4-day visit

Days 1-2

The itinerary for the first two days mirrors the 2-day tour. After lunch on the second day, you can go fishing in the Amazon River or swim.

Day 3

The third day focuses on visiting other farming families and exploring the Tambopata Corridor, including a rescue center for Amazonian fauna and learning about medicinal plants. An optional ayahuasca ceremony is available.

Day 4

Your experience concludes with farewells to the local family, followed by a transfer to the airport or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

Accommodation

The tour includes 1 or 3 nights of full-board accommodation in the local family's home, with prices per person in a double room.

Important

Arrival time: Be in Puerto Maldonado by 7 am (bus from Cusco available) or book a hotel for the night prior. The community is about a 2-hour journey away.

Departure time: Return transfers are scheduled 4 hours before flights or 3 hours before bus departures. For the 2-day tour, an early flight is not recommended for the second day's activities, aiming for a 4 pm departure. For bus travelers, afternoon departures allow for activities post-lunch. The 4-day tour has no activities on the last day.
