On this 2 or 4-day visit to the Loero Amazonian community, you will experience a jungle lifestyle by assisting a local family in their daily responsibilities.

Loero Amazonian Community Multi-Day Visit

2-day visit

Day 1

You will be picked up at the airport in Puerto Maldonado or your hotel. After transfer to the community of Loero, you will be welcomed by a local family. The first day involves assisting with daily tasks, focusing on planting local crops such as papaya, corn, banana, or cassava, followed by a meal of traditional food.

Day 2

The morning will be spent picking fruit from the fields. Depending on your departure time, additional activities such as fishing in the Amazon River may be included. Afterwards, you will be taken to the airport, bus station, or hotel.

4-day visit

Days 1-2

These days follow the same itinerary as the 2-day tour. After lunch on the second day, you can go fishing or enjoy a refreshing swim.

Day 3

This day will include visiting other farming families and the Tambopata Corridor, an area for sustainable tourism featuring a rescue center for Amazonian fauna and viewpoints. You will learn about the use of medicinal plants and may partake in an ayahuasca ceremony.

Day 4

At the end of your experience, you will say goodbye to the family and be transferred to the airport or your hotel in Puerto Maldonado.

Accommodation

The tour includes 1 or 3 nights of full-board accommodation in a local family home. Prices are per person in a double room.

Important

Arrival time: Be in Puerto Maldonado by 7 am or stay overnight. The journey to Loero community takes about 2 hours.

Departure time: Transfers are scheduled 4 hours before your flight or 3 hours before if taking a bus. For the 2-day tour, it is recommended to book a 4 pm flight. Afternoon bus departures allow for activities after lunch, and the 4-day tour has no activities scheduled on the fourth day.
