Parrot Clay Lick Tour

Pick-up will be at 3 am from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado, followed by a 2-hour car ride to the Tambopata River and the Tambopata National Reserve.

The early departure allows you to witness the sunrise over the Amazon Jungle. Upon arrival at the El Chuncho clay lick, known locally as a colpa, you will wait to observe the macaws feeding on the clay wall for about an hour. Different species of parrot and macaw will be visible during this time.

After the clay lick excursion, you will head to a lodge in the reserve, passing through trails where sloths, capybaras, tapirs, and deer may be seen. At the hacienda, a lunch will be provided, followed by a short walk around the area before returning to Puerto Maldonado. You will be dropped off at your hotel around 3 pm.
