Parrot Clay Lick Tour
Pickup is at 3 am from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado for a drive to the Tambopata River, about 2 hours away. Upon arrival, we will explore the Tambopata National Reserve.
The journey includes scenic views as the sun rises over Puerto Maldonado, providing picturesque views of the Amazon Jungle.
At the El Chuncho clay lick, known as a colpa, you will observe brightly colored macaws feeding on the clay wall for about an hour. Different species of parrots and macaws will be present.
Following the clay lick excursion, we will head to a lodge in the reserve, where we might see local wildlife such as sloths, capybaras, tapirs, and deer.
A lunch will be provided at the hacienda, followed by a short walk before returning to Puerto Maldonado. Expected drop-off at your hotel is around 3 pm.

This activity includes pickup from hotels in Puerto Maldonado. For those outside the city, an additional cost of 50 to 70 USD applies, depending on location, payable on the day of the activity.
