If you want a true, authentic experience of the Amazon Rainforest, this is the tour for you! You'll fish for piranhas like the locals, using the traditional techniques and you'll admire the multitude of birds living in their natural environment. A not-to-be-missed experience!
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado to start the 30-minute journey to what is known as the gateway to the Peruvian rainforest.
After admiring our surroundings, full of lakes and palm trees, we'll climb into our canoe, heading into the heart of the Madre de Díos River. Then we'll start piranha fishing, a typical activity in this area that will make you feel like a true local. Let's see how many you catch!
We'll continue our canoe trip and then head close to the emblematic Clay Lick. We'll stop close by for half an hour to enjoy lunch and see the hundreds of birds feeding on the salts and minerals provided by the clay.
We'll then get back in the canoes and head to where we started, and finally, we'll finish the tour by dropping you back at your hotel 3 hours later.
