Day 1

Welcome to Puerto Maldonado! After picking you up at the airport, we'll travel to the river port and board a canoe to our accommodation in the Tambopata National Reserve.

On the first night, you'll have a light broth, vegetable soup or water, as your stomach must be prepared for the ayahuasca ceremony at around 8 pm.

During the ritual, a shaman will officiate and help us to understand Andean cosmology and the ayahuasca brew made from local medicinal plants.

Day 2

The second day begins with a gentle walk through the jungle, learning about medicinal plants used by local Indigenous communities.

In the afternoon, we'll climb to a viewpoint to observe the jungle and look for birds like eagles and macaws. A nighttime stroll will allow us to see nocturnal insects and animals.

Day 3

Day three starts with breakfast followed by a trip to Cocococha Lagoon, with a 3.5-mile (5.5-kilometre) walk to admire its fauna. We'll look for Tambopata Giant Otters and hoatzins.

After lunch at the lodge, we'll visit Chica Lagoon to enjoy the area at sunset, providing opportunities for stunning photographs.

Day 4

After breakfast, we'll sail to the Puerto Maldonado dock for your transfer to the airport in time for your flight.

Accommodation

This tour includes 3 nights' accommodation at a lodge in Tambopata with full board (all meals included except on the ayahuasca ceremony day).
