Puerto Maldonado: 4 Days

Day 1: Puerto Maldonado – Río Madre de Díos

On the first day, you will be picked up from Puerto Maldonado Airport, bus station, or your hotel. You will travel to the river port and board a traditional boat to sail down the Madre de Dios River to the lodge, located 30 kilometers from the city. After settling into cabañas for three nights, a lunch will be served, followed by an afternoon rainforest exploration to collect seeds and learn about medicinal jungle plants. In the evening, enjoy a cruise along the river for a sunset before dinner and rest.

Day 2: Tambopata

After breakfast, head to the Tambopata Reserve for a day of trekking. You will learn to identify tropical plants and wildlife, reaching Lago Sandova to admire its biodiversity. Following lunch and a rest, there will be a night walk to observe nocturnal wildlife, ending with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Monkey Island

After breakfast, embark on a morning of adventure in the Amazon jungle, including tree climbing and zip-lining. Following lunch and a rest, visit Monkey Island to observe primates such as marmosets, maquisapas, and huapos. The day concludes with dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 4: Cachuela - Lago Anaconda - Puerto Maldonado

After an early breakfast, visit La Cachuela to see blue-headed macaws. Continue with bird watching en route to Anaconda Lake, where fishing opportunities await. You will return to your hotel in Puerto Maldonado around 12 midday.

Food & Accommodation

This excursion includes three nights' full-board accommodation in single or double cabañas at a lodge on the outskirts of Puerto Maldonado, with all meals provided.

The treks are easy, recommended for all ages, covering distances between 3 and 6 kilometers (1.8 to 3.7 miles).
