Description

Day 1

We'll pick you up at the airport in Puerto Maldonado and head to the river port to board a large boat. Enjoy a picnic on board while admiring the landscapes of the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers. The journey ends at a jungle lodge with a welcome drink. After a rest, attend a talk by a local naturalist on the endangered species of the Tambopata National Reserve. Dinner at the hotel precedes an evening canoe ride to see alligators.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will walk 1 kilometre (0.6 mile) to Tres Chimbadas Lake, home of the Tambopata Giant Otters. A short canoe trip follows, after which we will have a picnic and visit the highest wildlife observation tower in the Amazon, at 46 metres (150 feet). Dinner and rest at the hotel conclude the day.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will take you to the Puerto Maldonado airport based on your flight departure time.

4 Day Tour with Parrot Watching

The first and third days match the previous itinerary. On the second day, visit the Tambopata parrot colpa, a red clay wall with numerous exotic birds. After a picnic, enjoy the observation tower views before returning for dinner. The day concludes with a short night walk through the jungle.

4 Day Tour with Otter & Parrot Watching

The itinerary for the first day is the same as the 3-day tour. The second day focuses on observing giant otters on Lake Cocococha and visiting the Amazon observation tower. The third day features the Tambopata parrot colpa.

The fourth day includes breakfast followed by travel to Puerto Maldonado, arriving at the airport well in advance.

Accommodation

This tour includes 2 or 3 nights accommodation at the Explorer's Inn Tambopata Ecolodge, with full board for all meals included.
