Tambopata Tour Package: 7 Days
Day 1
After airport pickup, travel to the river port for a canoe ride on the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers. Enjoy a picnic while observing local fauna in the Tambopata Nature Reserve, including chestnut jacamars and black-crowned herons. Spend the night at the accommodation in Tambopata with an evening walk to find nocturnal animals, followed by dinner.
Day 2
After an early breakfast, sail to the Tambopata clay lick to observe Amazonian birds, especially parrots and macaws. Return for lunch then walk to Laguna Chica to see various toucans. Dinner at the hotel concludes the day.
Day 3
Post-breakfast, explore the Tambopata trail forests on a 6-kilometre trek to see local birds like the semi-collared Bolio. Enjoy a picnic en route before returning to the hotel by 4 pm for relaxation.
Day 4
After breakfast, climb to the highest birding tower in the Amazon for views of the Tambopata Reserve. In the afternoon, visit Laguna Chica for unique birds. Dinner at the lodge concludes the day.
Day 5
After breakfast, walk 5 kilometres to Lake Cocococha to observe birds at dawn. Enjoy a picnic and return to the hotel by 4 pm. After dinner, those interested can join a night canoe trip to search for Tambopata alligators.
Day 6
Dedicate the day to exploring other trail areas to see more exotic birds of Tambopata.
Day 7
After breakfast, transfer to the Puerto Maldonado airport for your flight.
