Tambopata Tour Package: 7 Days

Day 1

After picking you up from the Puerto Maldonado airport, we'll head to the river port for the canoe ride along the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers. We'll enjoy a picnic as we discover local fauna around the Tambopata Nature Reserve including various species of birds. The day will end at the accommodation in Tambopata, where we'll stay for 6 nights. You'll have the afternoon free, followed by an evening walk to observe nocturnal animals.

Day 2

After an early breakfast, we'll sail to the Tambopata clay lick to observe exotic Amazonian birds. Following this, we will return for lunch and take a short 20-minute walk to Laguna Chica, where we'll see various toucans. We will return for dinner and rest.

Day 3

We will explore the Tambopata trail forests on a 6-kilometre (3 miles) trek, observing local birds and enjoying a picnic. We'll return to the hotel by 4 pm, with the rest of the day free.

Day 4

We'll climb the highest birding tower in the Amazon, reaching a height of 46 metres (150 feet) for views of the Tambopata Reserve. After lunch, we will visit Laguna Chica to see unique birds. The day concludes with dinner at the lodge.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, we will walk 5 kilometres (3 miles) to Lake Cocococha to observe various birds. We will picnic and return to the hotel by 4 pm. After dinner, a special night canoe trip will be available to observe Tambopata alligators.

Day 6

This day is dedicated to exploring other areas of the trail for additional birdwatching opportunities.

Day 7

After breakfast, we will take you to the Puerto Maldonado airport, ensuring you have ample time for your flight.

Accommodation

This tour includes 6 nights accommodation at the Explorer's Inn Tambopata Ecolodge. The accommodation is full board, including all meals.
