8-Day Tour of Morocco from Tangier

Embark on a private 8-day tour of Morocco to discover cities and landscapes including Fez, Chefchaouen, Marrakech, and the Merzouga Desert.

Description

Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen

Your chauffeur will pick you up from Tangier's airport or port to travel to Chefchaouen. Your day concludes with a visit to the historic center followed by accommodation at your hotel or riad.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Ancient Roman City Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast, visit the UNESCO-listed archaeological site of Volubilis, and then proceed to Meknes, one of the four Imperial Cities. In the evening, travel to Fez for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Fez

Meet a local guide for a walking tour of the Old Town, Fez el-Bali, and explore notable landmarks including the Karaouine Mosque and Mulay Idris Mausoleum. After the tour, return to your hotel.

Day 4: Fez – Midelt – Merzouga

Travel through central Morocco, visiting cedar woods and Berber settlements en route to Midelt. Continue into the Merzouga Desert via camel and spend the night at a desert camp.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Ouarzazate

Enjoy a sunrise over the dunes before heading to Todgha Gorge, notable for its massive limestone walls. Conclude your day in Ouarzazate, known as “The Door of the Desert.”

Day 6: Ouarzazate – Ait-Ben-Haddou – Marrakech

Depart Ouarzazate to explore Ait-Ben-Haddou and its history before arriving in Marrakech.

Day 7: Marrakech

After breakfast, enjoy a guided walking tour of the medina, visiting the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, and the Koutoubia Mosque. Overnight stay in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech Airport

On your final day, have breakfast before being transferred to the Marrakech airport.

All accommodations are double occupancy; single rooms are unavailable. Triple or family rooms are possible. Standard rooms have communal showers, while luxury tents offer private bathrooms. Air-conditioning in luxury camps incurs a 30EUR charge per person.

Temporary Closures

Meknes is currently closed for renovation. The Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate is also closed due to the recent earthquake, but external photos are allowed.
