Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Porta Messina to kick off this free tour of Taormina. Throughout this guided tour, we'll delve into the city's history and explore its most prominent monuments.

As we navigate Taormina, we'll appreciate a diverse range of architectural styles that reflect various civilizations, including the Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and Angevins, each contributing to this Sicilian coastal town.

Our itinerary will include the exterior of the Odeon Theater, commissioned by Caesar Augustus Ottaviano in the 2nd century, medieval residences such as the Corvaja Palace, the Church of Santa Catalina, and IX April Square. Also, we will visit the significant Taormina Cathedral and its renowned Greek theater, dating back to the 3rd century B.C.

After about an hour and a half of sightseeing, we'll conclude our free tour of Taormina near Porta Catania.
