Valley of the Temples + Roman Villa of Casale Day Trip
Meet at the Taormina bus station to start the day trip to the Valley of the Temples and the Roman Villa of Casale.
The first stop is Agrigento, home to the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Here, visit key landmarks such as the Temple of Juno, Temple of Concordia (with paleochristian necropolis remains), Temple of Heracles, and the ruins of the Temple of Zeus. Also, admire the Temples of Castor and Pollux.
Enjoy an hour of free time for lunch at local restaurants. After lunch, continue to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman Villa of Casale, discovered by Gino Vinicio Gentili in the 1950s. The villa showcases vibrant mosaics, including a rare depiction of women engaging in sports, such as disc throwing and weight lifting.
After 12 hours exploring the Valley of the Temples and the Roman Villa of Casale, return to the meeting point to conclude the trip.
