Have you ever considered that Peru is home to some of the finest chocolate globally? Discover the fascinating process behind its creation on this exciting day trip to Chazuta, where you will explore the town and participate in an engaging chocolate workshop.

Day Trip to Chazuta

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your hotel in Tarapoto and make our way southward to Chazuta, where a guided walking experience awaits.

Chazuta, known as the land of friendship, boasts an amiable community devoted to pottery and agriculture. The area's primary crops include corn, yucca, and cocoa. If you are a chocolate lover, you're in for a treat, as a delightful chocolate workshop is part of the itinerary! Local women will share their expertise on the art of crafting some of Peru's most exquisite chocolates, and you'll have the opportunity to sample them!

Our next stop will be Shapaja. Here, we will enjoy lunch featuring a main dish and a beverage, all while taking in beautiful views of the Huallaga River. Following our meal, we will visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a unique museum where you will gain insights into the native and traditional arts of Chazuta. Our final destination will be the Plaza de Armas, the principal square in Chazuta, offering a lovely place to conclude the tour.

This memorable 9-hour journey will come to a close as we return you to your hotel in Tarapoto.
