Chazuta Day Trip
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Tarapoto and head south to Chazuta, where we'll take a guided walking tour.
Known as the land of friendship for the locals' welcoming character, most of the people of Chazuta work in pottery or agriculture. The main crops include corn, yucca, and cocoa. A delicious chocolate workshop awaits, where local women will teach us the secrets of how chocolate is made and you'll have the chance to taste it.
Next, we'll go to Shapaja for lunch, which will consist of a main course and a drink while enjoying views of the Huallaga River. After lunch, we'll visit the Washichay Interpretation Center, a museum showcasing native and ancestral art of Chazuta. We will conclude with a stop at the Plaza de Armas, Chazuta's main square.
Finally, this 9-hour excursion will wrap up as we drop you back off at your hotel in Tarapoto.
