Day Trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve + Canoe Ride

On this day trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve, you will explore the wonders of ecotourism in the San Martín region and enjoy a canoe ride through a unique wetland ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto to head to Moyobamba. After a 3-hour journey, we will arrive at the port and board a motorised canoe to reach the Tingana Ecological Reserve entrance.

Upon arrival at Tingana, we will have a traditional regional breakfast amidst lush vegetation. Following breakfast, we will embark on a motorised canoe ride through the flooded forest of the Avisado River, observing animal species among the palm and banyan trees, which are known locally as "walking trees" and provide habitat for snakes, otters, and frogs.

After 3 hours of exploration, we will stop to enjoy a typical regional lunch using locally sourced products. After lunch, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve and spot various amphibian species that camouflage in the jungle.

Finally, we will return to Tarapoto and conclude the day at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
