Day Trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve + Canoe Ride

On this day trip to the Tingana Ecological Reserve, you'll discover the wonders of ecotourism in the San Martín region, including a canoe ride through a wetland ecosystem.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto to travel to Moyobamba. After a 3-hour journey, we'll arrive at the port and board a motorised canoe to enter the Tingana Ecological Reserve.

Upon arrival at Tingana, we'll have a traditional regional breakfast among lush vegetation. Afterward, we will embark on a motorised canoe ride through the notable flooded forest of the Avisado River, where you can observe various animal species among the palm and banyan trees, which serve as habitats for snakes, otters, and frogs.

After 3 hours of exploration, we'll stop for a typical regional lunch, made with locally sourced ingredients. Following lunch, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve and spot several amphibian species camouflaging in the jungle.

Finally, we will return to Tarapoto and conclude the trip at your hotel after a total of 15 hours.
