Lamas Day Trip
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto and proceed to Lamas in our minibus, a journey of approximately 30 minutes.
Upon arrival in Lamas, we will visit the Plaza de Armas and admire its golden sculptures while discussing the town's history, including its conquests and Indigenous communities. A visit to the Chanka Museum will follow, where we will learn about the local culture and festivals during a 30-minute tour.
Next, we will explore Lamas Castle, a prominent tourist attraction. The fortress boasts impressive halls and towers with panoramic views of the mountains. Although it resembles a medieval structure, it was built more recently. We will discuss its unique architecture and the contrasts of Lamas.
We will then visit the Wayku community of Lamas to observe their distinctive windowless houses. Our day trip concludes with our return to Tarapoto, approximately three hours after departure.
