Santa Elena & Caves of Palestine Day Trip

Join us for a day trip to the Santa Elena Reserve from Tarapoto. We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and board our minibus for a 2-hour 30-minute drive to the town of Rioja, where a typical breakfast and an infusion or coffee will be served.

After breakfast, we will proceed to the Alto Mayo wetlands for a 2-hour canoe ride on the Romero River. During this experience, you will have the opportunity to observe wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, otters, and reptiles.

Next, we will travel to Nueva Cajamarca to visit the Caves of Palestine. Here, we will explore the underground paths and learn about the unique formations and history from our guide.

Following the cave exploration, we will enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, including a main course and a drink.

We will conclude the day by returning to your hotel in Tarapoto, wrapping up a total of approximately 12 hours of adventure.
