Our adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Tarapoto, where you will board a comfortable minibus to commence our travels toward the Santa Elena Reserve.

After approximately a 2.5-hour drive, we will arrive at the town of Rioja. Here, you will enjoy a traditional breakfast, served alongside a refreshing infusion or a rich cup of coffee—an ideal way to kick off your day.

With renewed energy, we will proceed to the Alto Mayo wetlands, where canoes await our arrival. We will get into the canoes and embark on a leisurely two-hour rowing adventure down the Romero River. During our time on the water, keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, otters, and reptiles that inhabit this vibrant ecosystem.

Upon completing our canoe journey, we will travel to Nueva Cajamarca for an exploration of the Caves of Palestine. As we wander through the mysterious underground pathways of the caves, you will encounter unique rock formations shaped over countless years.
