Join us on a day trip to the Santa Elena Reserve from Tarapoto, including a canoe ride through the Alto Mayo wetlands and a visit to the Caves of Palestine.

Santa Elena & Caves of Palestine Day Trip

We will pick you up from your hotel in Tarapoto in the morning and board our minibus for the trip to the Santa Elena Reserve.

After a 2-hour 30-minute drive, we will arrive in Rioja for a typical breakfast with an infusion or coffee.

Next, we will head to the Alto Mayo wetlands where canoes will be ready for our 2-hour rowing trip down the Romero River. Participants can expect to see various wildlife, including monkeys, sloths, otters, and reptiles.

Following the canoe ride, we will travel to Nueva Cajamarca to explore the Caves of Palestine. Guests will walk through the caverns and learn about their formations from the guide.

After the caves, we will enjoy a meal at a local restaurant, which includes a main course and a drink.

The day trip will conclude with a return to your hotel in Tarapoto, lasting approximately 12 hours.
