Adventurers of all ages, get ready: explore the tropical wilderness of the Nicoya Gulf on a crocodile safari. You'll take a leisurely boat ride on the Tárcoles River while admiring the lush scenery.

Tárcoles River Crocodile Safari

At the scheduled time, we'll meet next to the Tárcoles River and set off on a safari to see crocodiles in their natural habitat. This area is home to one of the world's largest populations of these semiaquatic reptiles.

After introductions, we'll board a boat heading downstream to start our safari. Be prepared to see American crocodiles that can reach up to 16 feet (5 metres) long.

During the safari, we'll explore the jungle and observe how crocodiles and other wildlife thrive around the Tárcoles River. This region is also home to numerous bird species and features an important mangrove ecosystem.

While cruising through the Guacalillo Estuary, you'll see four different species of trees, plus observe over 50 types of birds, iguanas, and Jesus Christ lizards.

At the end of your jungle crocodile safari, you'll return to the meeting point, approximately 2 hours after pick up.
