Tangier Day Trip from Tarifa

Embarking on this day trip to Tangier, we will set off from Tarifa, Spain via ferry to explore one of the most captivating cities in the northern region of Morocco. Experience the blend of Europe and Africa within a single day!

Day Trip Overview

A full hour before departure, we will gather at the Information Office located in the Tarifa port. Here, our adventure begins as we board a ferry bound for the port of Tangier, a crossing that takes just 50 minutes. Upon arrival, our guided exploration of the modern city begins, promising captivating insights from the outset!

Our first destination will be Cape Espartel, a spectacular viewpoint where the waters of the Mediterranean Sea converge with those of the Atlantic Ocean. Following this, we will venture into the Caves of Hercules. Did you know that ancient Greeks believed Hercules spent a night in this very spot?

You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some free time for memorable photographs or, if you're inclined, partake in a brief camel ride.

Next, our journey continues to the Kasbah, positioned at the highest part of Tangier's Medina. Here, we will admire the Sultan's Palace and revel in the breathtaking vistas of the Strait of Gibraltar.

We will then meander through the Medina, passing notable sights such as the Mendoubia gardens, the local vegetable market, and the Tangier Synagogue. In this location, we will appreciate the stunning architectural blend of Jewish and Moroccan styles while also delving into the rich heritage of Tangier's Jewish community.

Near the temple, we will take a well-deserved break to savor a traditional Moroccan lunch, featuring harira soup, beef kebabs, couscous, green tea, and pastries, all accompanied by live traditional music!

Post-lunch, you will have approximately 40 minutes for some leisurely shopping and souvenir hunting. After this free time, we will reconvene for our return journey.

Ultimately, we will conclude our excursion back at the starting point after a fulfilling 9-hour adventure.

2-Day Trip Option

Should you opt for the 2-day experience, the initial day will mirror the itinerary outlined previously. After a delightful traditional Moroccan lunch, we will visit the Tangier souk, allowing you 1 hour of personal time.

We will then regroup to escort you to the 4-star Hotel Oumnia or a comparable accommodation. The remaining afternoon is yours to discover Tangier at your leisure.

On the second day, a hotel breakfast is included. Following this, you will enjoy the morning free until we pick you up for transfer to the port of Tangier, where you will board the ferry back to Tarifa.

Expected arrival in Tarifa is between 6 pm and 8 pm.

Please note that the Tangier Synagogue is not accessible to the public on Saturdays.
