Tangier Day Trip from Tarifa

Embark on this excursion to Tangier, where we will journey by ferry from Tarifa, Spain, to explore a captivating city in northern Morocco. Experience the unique opportunity to be in both Europe and Africa in a single day!

Overview of the Day Trip

We will convene at the Information Office located in the port of Tarifa at least one hour prior to departure. Soon after, we'll board a ferry that will transport us to the port of Tangier in just 50 minutes. Upon arrival, our guided tour of the modern city will commence, immediately drawing you in with its charm!

Our first stop will be at Cape Espartel, where you can marvel at the convergence of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Next, we'll venture into the Caves of Hercules, a site of legend where the Greeks believed Hercules once rested.

During our visit, you'll have some leisure time to capture memorable photos or, if you desire, to enjoy a brief camel ride.

The tour continues into the Kasbah, the highest section of the Medina in Tangier, where we will view the Sultan's Palace and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Strait of Gibraltar.

Subsequently, we'll wander the Medina, passing by the Mendoubia gardens, the bustling vegetable market, and the Tangier Synagogue. Here, a chance to appreciate its stunning architecture that blends Jewish and Moroccan styles awaits, along with insights into the Jewish community's rich heritage in Tangier.

Near the synagogue, we’ll take a delightful break for a traditional Moroccan lunch, which features harira soup, beef kebabs, couscous, fragrant green tea, and sweet pastries, all accompanied by live traditional music!

After the meal, around 40 minutes will be available for shopping and picking up souvenirs. We will regroup at the designated time for our return journey.

Our day concludes with a warm farewell at the starting point after a comprehensive 9-hour exploration.

Two-Day Itinerary

Opting for the two-day experience, the first day will follow the same route as the earlier description. Following a traditional Moroccan lunch, we will venture to the Tangier souk for an enjoyable hour of free time.

Later, we’ll reconvene and escort you to the 4-star Hotel Oumnia or a comparable hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to explore Tangier at your leisure.

The following day includes breakfast at the hotel. You will have a leisurely morning until we arrange transportation to the port of Tangier, where you will board the ferry back to Tarifa.

Expected arrival in Tarifa will be between 6 pm and 8 pm.
