On this 6-day tour through the Tariquía National Reserve, we will explore nature and history in Bolivia.

6-day Bolivia Hiking Tour

Day 1

Pick up at your hotel in Tarija at 6 am for the journey to the Tariquía National Reserve. After a two-hour drive, we will reach Abra de la Hondura and start our first hike, crossing rivers and canyons to the Cerro de la Escalera viewpoint, with views of the town of Patanchada. We will camp at the community of San José.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will hike to the viewpoint of Abra Potrerillo for lunch. The rest of the day is free for optional activities, including horseback riding.

Day 3

Post-breakfast, we will hike to the town of Motoví, noted for Piedra Ombliguda. The day consists of touring Motoví and learning about its myths and legends.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will travel to the community of La Cueva, historically inhabited by the Guarani people. We will tour the area and camp overnight.

Day 5

We will have breakfast and head to Cambarí, noted for its wildlife, including the taruca, jukumari bear, and military parrot, as part of the Tariquía National Reserve.

Day 6

After breakfast, we will leave the reserve and return to Tarija, stopping in Sidras for lunch, arriving at your hotel in the mid-afternoon.

Accommodation

The tour includes four nights of lodging in tents and one night at the Valle del Medio ecotourism center.
