San Lorenzo & Coimata Tour
At the designated time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Tarija and set off towards the charming town of San Lorenzo, situated approximately 30 minutes away.
Along the way, we will share captivating insights and anecdotes about the rich history of San Lorenzo. This town is widely recognized in Bolivia as the birthplace of Eustaquio Moto Méndez.
Our itinerary includes visits to several significant monuments within San Lorenzo. We will explore the home museum dedicated to Moto Méndez, which still houses personal items from his life, including the weapons he wielded in the struggle for Bolivia’s independence.
The tour will also feature a stop at the San Lorenzo church, allowing us to appreciate its architecture, which dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries. Following this, we will head to the bustling local market, where you can wander through a variety of stalls offering food, beverages, and sweets. Are you familiar with rosquetes or aloja de cebada? You will have the chance to discover these local treats!
After exploring the market, we will proceed to Coimata. Here, you can take a leisurely stroll through this natural spa, known for its crystal-clear waterfalls. Along the way, we will make a stop at the impressive 750-hectare San Jacinto dam, a vital water source for the city, providing a delightful conclusion before our return to Tarija.
Ultimately, after about four to five hours of exploration, we will wrap up the tour and return you to your hotel in Tarija.
