On our stargazing activity in Tarija, we'll experience constellations and planets at the National Astronomical Observatory of Santa Ana.

Tarija Stargazing Activity

At 7 pm, we will pick you up from your hotel in Tarija and travel by minibus to the National Astronomical Observatory of Santa Ana.

This observatory broadcasts the official time for Bolivia and features photographic laboratories, workshops, and telescopes. The activity begins with a tour of the observatory, where you will learn about the instruments used to observe planets, satellites, and stars. Staff will use laser pointers to identify planets in the sky.

You will have the opportunity to look through the telescope and locate bright stars such as Alpha Centauri, Sirius, and Canopus, along with planets including Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.

After observing celestial bodies, we will conclude the experience with a documentary on astronomy in the audiovisual room.

We will return you to your hotel in Tarija by 10 pm.
