Chacamarca Sanctuary, Lake Junin & Ondores Tour

On this tour to Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, Lake Junín and Ondores, we'll explore the attractions in Junín and visit San Pedro de Pari.

Description

At the specified time, we'll meet in Plaza de Armas in Tarma and start a tour around the main sights in the Junín province.

Firstly, we will head north to visit the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary. En route, we'll stop at the Camino Inca viewpoint to admire the extensive fields of flowers. After approximately one hour, we'll reach our destination to learn about the Battle of Junín and its significance in Peru's independence.

We will explore the origin of the monument, which honors the heroes fallen in battle, and visit the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary museum.

Next, we’ll visit the small town of Junín, including its Plaza de Armas and the monument of General Simón Bolívar. Our following stop will be the town of Ondores, where we will have a guided tour of its attractions.

The colonial Church of Ondores will be a highlight, known for its valuable altarpieces, stone tower, bell tower, and rich history. After this, we will proceed to San Pedro de Pari, located by Lake Junín.

In San Pedro de Pari, we'll see the colonial Church of Pari with stunning lake views, and learn about its design. We will also explore additional attractions like la Cabeza del Inca, La Momia, San Jerónimo, and Tres Reyes Magos.

Finally, we will return to Tarma and conclude our tour after seven hours.
