Description
We will meet at the specified time in Plaza de Armas in Tarma to begin our tour of the main sights in the Junín province.
Our first destination will be the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, with a stop at the Camino Inca viewpoint to view the extensive fields of flowers. After approximately one hour of driving, we will arrive to learn about the Battle of Junín and its significance in Peru's independence.
We will explore the origin of the monument honoring the heroes fallen in battle and visit the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary museum.
Next, we will proceed to the small town of Junín to visit its Plaza de Armas, which features the monument of General Simón Bolívar. Our following stop will be the town of Ondores, where we will take a guided tour of its points of interest.
The colonial Church of Ondores will be a highlight, noted for its altarpieces, stone tower, and bell tower. We will then visit Lake Junín before traveling to San Pedro de Pari.
In San Pedro de Pari, we will find the colonial Church of Pari along the lake's shoreline, offering great views. We will also explore other attractions such as la Cabeza del Inca, La Momia, San Jerónimo, and the Tres Reyes Magos.
We will conclude our tour by returning to Tarma after seven hours.
