Chacamarca Sanctuary, Lake Junin & Ondores Tour

On this tour to Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, Lake Junín and Ondores we will explore the attractions in Junín and visit San Pedro de Pari.

Description

At the specified time, we will meet in Plaza de Armas in Tarma and start a tour around the main sights in the Junín province.

We will first travel north to Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary, stopping at the Camino Inca viewpoint to admire the extensive fields of flowers. After a drive of approximately one hour, we will learn about the Battle of Junín and its significance in Peru's independence. We will discover the origin of the monument honoring the fallen heroes and will visit the Chacamarca Historic Sanctuary museum.

Next, we will proceed to the small town of Junín to visit the Plaza de Armas and the monument of General Simón Bolívar. Our subsequent stop will be the town of Ondores for a guided tour of its sights.

The colonial Church of Ondores will be the highlight, featuring valuable altarpieces, a stone tower, and a bell tower. We will then move along Lake Junín, one of the largest in Peru, to San Pedro de Pari.

In San Pedro de Pari, we will visit the colonial Church of Pari and enjoy stunning views of the lake, while learning about its structure and design. We will explore additional attractions such as la Cabeza del Inca, La Momia, San Jerónimo, and Tres Reyes Magos.

Finally, we will return to Tarma, concluding our tour after seven hours.
