Day Trip to Villa Rica & the Oconal Lagoon

Join us for a day trip to Villa Rica and the El Oconal Lagoon, the coffee capital of the Pasco region, featuring a boat ride.

What's in store:

Our adventure begins after meeting at Tarma's Plaza de Armas at the scheduled time, starting our excursion to Villa Rica and El Oconal Lagoon.

We'll traverse the province of Oxapampa, a diverse region historically inhabited by the Campas, Amueshas, and Cashibos cultures, sharing insights into their rich heritage.

The first destination is Villa Rica, known for its coffee production. A guided tour will explore iconic landmarks, including the wooden chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Plaza de Armas.

Before leaving Villa Rica, we will visit a local coffee farm to learn about Peru's coffee production, from cultivation to consumption.

Next, we will head to El Oconal Lagoon, a wetland with diverse plant and wildlife. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and biodiversity of this water reservoir, along with a traditional boat ride across El Oconal.

To conclude our lagoon experience, we will have an ichthyotherapy session and visit the El León waterfall on our return to Tarma.

After approximately 14 hours of adventure, we will conclude our excursion back at the starting point.
