Day Trip to Villa Rica & the Oconal Lagoon

Join us for a day trip to Villa Rica and the El Oconal Lagoon, the coffee capital of the Pasco region, where we will explore natural wonders and enjoy a boat ride.

What's in store:

Our adventure begins at Tarma's Plaza de Armas at the scheduled time, starting our excursion to Villa Rica and the El Oconal Lagoon.

We will travel through the province of Oxapampa, a region historically inhabited by the Campas, Amueshas, and Cashibos. Insights into the heritage of these indigenous communities will be shared.

The first stop is Villa Rica, known for its coffee. A guided tour will explore landmarks such as the wooden chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Plaza de Armas.

Before leaving Villa Rica, we will visit a local coffee farm to learn about Peru's coffee production from cultivation to processing.

Next, we will head to the El Oconal Lagoon, a wetland rich in plant and wildlife. Enjoy the stunning landscapes and biodiversity, with the opportunity for photos and a traditional boat ride on the lagoon.

After the lagoon experience, we will relax with an ichthyotherapy session and visit the El León waterfall on our return to Tarma.

Our excursion lasts approximately 14 hours, concluding at the starting point.
