Join us to discover one of the most important cities in Peru on this tour to Huánuco, including the archaeological site of Kotosh.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas in Tarma to start our tour to Huánuco and Kotosh. The early start will be worth it. We'll head north towards Huánuco, the city of eternal Spring, arriving approximately five hours later with a stop for breakfast.
After breakfast, we'll embark on a guided tour around Huánuco, exploring the Plaza de Armas, home to the modern Huánuco cathedral, and the resting place of "el Señor de Burgos," the patron saint of the city. Next, we'll visit the Daniel Alomía Robles Mausoleum, where we'll discuss the composer of "El Cóndor Pasa." We'll cross the Calicanto bridge to visit the San Cristóbal colonial Church and the San Francisco Church.
After visiting Huánuco's main attractions, we’ll proceed to the archaeological site of Kotosh, one of the oldest temples in Peru, where we'll explore its ruins and the Temple of Crossed Hands. We’ll then go to Pillco Mozo, where you'll have an hour of free time to eat in local restaurants.
After lunch, we’ll visit the Casa de la Perricholi and learn about her charm that captivated Viceroy Manuel Amat. We’ll also stop at the Hacienda Cachigaga to learn about sugar cane drinks, taste traditional products, and visit Casa Hacienda de Andabamba and Casa de los Artesanos.
Finally, we’ll return to Tarma 12 hours after the starting time.
