Gather at Plaza de Armas in Tarma at the designated time. Our adventure will commence as we delve into the beauty of the Mantaro Valley, uncovering enchanting locales such as Jauja, Concepción, and Huancayo.
Throughout our travels, you will be captivated by the stunning scenery surrounding Tarma. A noteworthy stop will be at the Carhuacatac viewpoint, located 200 meters (658 feet) above sea level, granting you a breathtaking panorama of Tarma, ideal for capturing unforgettable moments. Continuing our route, we will discover the historic essence of Jauja, recognized as one of Peru's prominent historical capitals.
As we approach Jauja, a charming detour will lead us to the picturesque Paca Lagoon, embraced by the magnificent Eastern Cordillera. Upon reaching Jauja, highlights of the city will include the captivating Plaza de Armas, the striking Matriz Church, and the Chapel of Cristo Pobre, intricately influenced by the famous Notre Dame de Paris.
We will then head to Concepción, where the Convent of Santa Rosa de Ocopa, founded in 1725, awaits. This esteemed site is celebrated for its cultural and artistic importance, housing valuable historical artifacts within its walls.
Next, our path takes us to Ingenio, a hidden gem in the Mantaro Valley, where breathtaking landscapes and a chance to visit a local trout farm await. During our time in Ingenio, we will savor a traditional lunch at a nearby eatery, embracing the flavors of the region.
Revitalized from our meal, we will continue to San Jerónimo de Tunán, famous for its exquisite gold and silver craftsmanship. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to observe artisans at work, creating intricate pieces using the traditional filigree technique.
Our final destination will be Huancayo, a city renowned in the Mantaro Valley. We will explore significant attractions such as the Cathedral, the Huanca Identity Park, and the unique Cerrito de la Libertad, each contributing to the area's rich heritage.
