From Tarma, we'll venture into the picturesque Mantaro Valley, exploring charming locales such as Jauja, Concepción, Huancayo, and San Jerónimo de Tunán.
Description
Meet us at Plaza de Armas in Tarma at the scheduled time. From there, we'll commence our tour of the Mantaro Valley, visiting the captivating destinations of Jauja, Concepción, and Huancayo.
During the tour, we will pause at the Carhuacatac viewpoint, located 200 meters (658 feet) above sea level, for views of Tarma. Following this, we'll explore Jauja, noted as one of Peru's historical capitals.
We will take a detour to the Paca Lagoon and then visit key attractions in Jauja, including the Plaza de Armas, Matriz Church, and the Chapel of Cristo Pobre.
Next, we head to Concepción to explore the Convent of Santa Rosa de Ocopa, established in 1725, recognized for its cultural significance.
In Ingenio, we will visit a trout farm and enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
We will then proceed to San Jerónimo de Tunán, known for its gold and silver craftsmanship, observing the filigree technique.
The tour concludes in Huancayo, where we will explore landmarks such as the Cathedral, Huanca Identity Park, and Cerrito de la Libertad. We will return to the meeting point after about 12 hours.
