On this day trip to Oxapampa, we'll explore the fusion of Andean and European cultures while traveling to the Chanchamayo Valley.
Description
We will meet at (Tarma's Plaza de Armas) at the specified time and head north to Oxapampa, enjoying the landscapes of the Chanchamayo Valley along the route.
We will stop in La Merced, located in the province of Chanchamayo, to learn about the lives and history of indigenous peoples in the central Peruvian jungle. Afterward, we will cross the Kimiri suspension bridge and travel to the village of San Luis de Shuaro.
Following a short break, we will visit several viewpoints for photos and picturesque views before reaching Oxapampa, established by Austrian and German immigrants in the 19th century.
During a guided tour of the town, we will appreciate the blend of European and Andean cultures. We will visit the Parish of Santa Rosa and walk through the Miraflores and Llamaquizu neighborhoods, known for their typical houses along the Colonist's Walk.
We will conclude our tour at the Huarapo dairy cooperative to gain insights into cattle farming in the area. The trip will end with a meal at a nearby restaurant and return to Tarma’s Plaza de Armas, concluding an 8-hour adventure filled with memorable experiences.
