Tour Outline

Day 1: Tashkent - Kokand - Fergana

Your journey commences with a pickup at your hotel in Tashkent, leading you to the train station for our train ride to Kokand, located within the Fergana Valley.

Once we reach Kokand, a guided tour awaits, featuring the Khudoyar-Khan Palace, the Jami Mosque, and the Norbut-Biy Madrasa. Following this, we’ll board a bus to the village of Oq Yer for a visit to a local craftsman’s workshop, where you'll learn about the art of wool carpet weaving from a Kyrgyz family. The night will be spent at a hotel in Fergana.

Day 2: Fergana - Rishtan - Margilan - Tashkent

After breakfast at the hotel, we will head to Rishtan, celebrated for its ceramic artistry. A master ceramist will invite us into his home to showcase some of his renowned creations. Moreover, you’ll participate in a pottery workshop to create your own piece.

Next, we’ll travel to Margilan to explore the madrasa of Said Akhmad-Khoja, now a silk factory. A stroll through a traditional market and a visit to the Yodgorlik silk factory will allow you to witness the intricate process of silk production. On Thursdays and Sundays, we can visit the Kumtapa Bazaar, known as the largest market in the Fergana Valley. In the afternoon, we’ll return to Tashkent via train, where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Tashkent

The day begins with breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a guided exploration of Tashkent. We will appreciate the unique designs of the Alisher Navoi Theatre and the Tashkent Museum of Applied Arts, followed by a walk through Amir Temur Square and Independence Square. A visit to the Khast Imam complex will highlight the city’s architectural beauty. Concluding the tour, we’ll visit the Charsu Bazaar for some shopping before returning to the hotel.

Day 4: Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva

After an early breakfast and check-out, we will head to the airport for an internal flight of approximately three and a half hours to Urgench. Upon arrival, transportation will take us to Khiva, where we can spend the rest of the day.

Once settled in at the hotel, we’ll embark on a tour of Khiva, exploring the fortress of Itchan-Kala, the madrasas of Amin Khan and Mukhammad Rahimkhan, along with the Kalta minaret. Our route will also include the Kunya Arch, Juma Mosque, Tash-Khovl Palace, and the Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum, culminating with the Islam-Khoja Minaret. Following the tour, enjoy your free time for relaxation at the hotel in Khiva.

Day 5: Khiva - Bukhara

After breakfast, we will board a bus to Bukhara, with a travel time of approximately seven hours during which you can admire the surrounding landscapes and local Uzbek villages. Upon arrival in Bukhara, you will have the remainder of the day for leisure activities.

Day 6: Bukhara

The day will start with breakfast, followed by an exploration of Bukhara, visiting highlights such as the Lyabi-Khauz complex, Magoki-Attori Mosque, Kalyan Minaret and Mosque, Miri-Arab Madrasa, Ulugbeck Madrasa, and Abdulazizkhan Madrasa, as well as the Ark Fortress Madrasa.

Our tour will also include the mausoleum of Ismail Samani, the founder of the Samanid Empire, as well as the Bolo Hauz Mosque and the Chor-Minor Madrasah, culminating with a visit to the majestic Arq of Bukhara. In the evening, we will attend a folk music show before returning to the hotel.

Day 7: Bukhara - Nurota - Kyzyl-Kum

After breakfast, we will depart Bukhara towards Nurota, a journey of about four hours. Along the way, we will stop to view notable petroglyphs and the 4th-century ruins of Chashma.

Did you know that Nurota was established by Alexander the Great? Once there, we’ll tour the ancient city, seeing the Juma and Panjvaqta mosques. Later, we will transfer to a yurt camp located in the Kyzyl-Kum desert for our overnight stay. A delicious dinner and another folk music show will cap off the day.

Day 8: Kyzyl-Kum - Samarkand

Breakfast will be provided at the yurt camp, with the morning free to explore Kyzyl-Kum on foot or via camel. After lunch, we will proceed to Samarkand, arriving in the evening and checking into our hotel for the night.

Day 9: Samarkand - Tashkent

The final day will be dedicated to exploring Samarkand, the second-largest city in Uzbekistan. Highlights will include the iconic Registan Square along with its three madrasas from the 15th and 17th centuries, the Zindah necropolis, and the Bibi Khanum mosque, noted as the largest mosque in Central Asia.

We will also tour the Konigil factory, specializing in paper making. After lunch, enjoy some free time to shop for souvenirs from this memorable 9-day journey across Uzbekistan. In the afternoon, we’ll gather at the hotel for our departure to the train station. We will take the train at 6 pm, arriving in Tashkent at 8:10 pm, and then transfer you to the airport for your flight home. Safe travels!
