Taxco Tour Overview

Your adventure begins at Benito Juarez Street in Taxco at the designated meeting time, where we will set off on a guided journey through the historic center. Together, we will unravel the rich tapestry of attractions this Pueblo Mágico has to offer. Join us on this exploration!

The first destination on our itinerary is the ex-convent of San Bernardino de Siena. Originally constructed with adobe in the late 16th century, this site underwent renovations in 1804 in the prominent neoclassical style after suffering fire damage.

Following our visit to the ex-convent, we will venture to the back, where the statues of penitents honor Taxco's Holy Week through depictions of the various penitents who participate in the solemn procession.

Our next stop will take us to Plaza Borda, also known as the Zócalo. Do you know that this square's name translates to "place where they play ball"? Here, we’ll pause in front of Casa Borda, an impressive structure commissioned by José de la Borda in 1759, which now serves as a cultural center.

We'll continue our exploration past the renowned Casa Humboldt, the Viceroyalty Art Museum, and the notable Casa Figueroa (also referred to as Casa de las Lágrimas). Are you aware of the poignant tale tied to these historic walls?

As our enlightening tour of Taxco nears its conclusion, we will reach the stunning Church of Santa Prisca and San Sebastian. This remarkable edifice is renowned as one of the most exquisite baroque churches in Mexico and stands as a proud symbol of the city.

We will wrap up our journey two hours later in front of the bustling silver tianguis, a charming open-air market featuring a variety of silver jewelry for you to browse and explore.
