See two of Georgia's most beautiful and symbolic monuments with this Borjomi, Vardzia & Rabati Castle Day Trip. You'll visit the monastery caves and wander through the charming town.

Day Trip Details

We'll meet on Kote Abkhazi Street in Tbilisi at the designated time and board the bus to head west to the Vardzia Monastery. The journey will take approximately 3 hours.

Located in the town of Ajaltsije, this building features a curious cultural mix, including a church, a mosque, and a synagogue within its seven hectares.

After an hour's visit, we'll proceed to Vardzia. You'll be captivated by its many caves. The monastery was built with a defensive character due to its proximity to Turkey. We'll tour the complex for an hour and a half, discovering secrets and admiring frescoes in the church.

On the way, we'll stop for lunch in a small village.

Our next stop will reveal the mountains and green slopes of the Borjomi Nature Reserve. You'll learn about the value of its spring waters and have the chance to taste them. We’ll also walk through the town and see the Romanovs summer palace.

The tour will conclude at the starting point in Tbilisi at approximately 10 pm.

Itinerary Adjustments

Until March 2025, Rabati Castle cannot be visited due to a lighting issue. During this period, we will spend additional time exploring Borjomi and Vardzia.
