See two of Georgia's most beautiful and symbolic monuments with this Borjomi, Vardzia & Rabati Castle Day Trip. You'll visit the monastery caves, and wander through the charming town.
Day Trip Details
We'll meet on Kote Abkhazi Street in Tbilisi at the designated time and board the bus to head west to the Vardzia Monastery. The journey will take approximately 3 hours.
Located in the town of Ajaltsije, this site features a cultural blend of a church, a mosque, and a synagogue within its seven hectares.
After an hour's visit, we'll continue to Vardzia. You will be captivated by its numerous caves. The monastery, built for defense, is near Turkey. We'll tour the complex for an hour and a half and admire the frescoes in the church.
En route, we will stop for lunch in a small village.
Next, we'll explore the mountains and slopes of the Borjomi Nature Reserve. You'll learn about the valuable spring waters and have the chance to taste them. Additionally, we will walk through the town to see the Romanovs summer palace.
The tour concludes in Tbilisi around 10 pm.
Itinerary Adjustments
Until March 2025, Rabati Castle is inaccessible due to a lighting issue. We will spend additional time at Borjomi and Vardzia during this period.
