Embark on a journey to Hebron from Tel Aviv, traversing the West Bank to explore one of the most intriguing cities in the Middle East. An experience not to be missed!
Description
Your adventure begins when you are collected from the Hostel Abraham in Tel Aviv. From this point, we will head towards the Palestinian territory of the West Bank.
Upon crossing the breathtaking Judean mountains, we will reach Hebron, recognized as one of the oldest cities in the region. Our exploration will kick off with a visit to the Jewish section of the Tomb of the Patriarchs. Here, it is believed that the sacred remains of patriarchs Abraham and Sara, Isaac and Rebeca, as well as Jacob and Lea rest.
Next, our Hebron tour brings us to the Jewish neighborhood, where we will enter the Abraham Avinue Synagogue. This historic temple, established in the mid-16th century, holds an array of stories from the past. Following this, we will head to the Beit Hadassah & Hebron Visitor Centre to delve further into the rich history of the city.
Continuing along our route, we will stop at the Beit Romano Yeshivat Shavei Khevron, a hub for studying and promoting Hebrew culture. Our next destination is the Tel Rumeida archaeological site, where remnants from the Chalcolithic period await. After absorbing this historical context, we will proceed to the Hebron center, where you can enjoy some lunch.
Post-lunch, we’ll revisit the Tomb of the Patriarchs, this time exploring the Muslim section and observing the contrasts compared to the Jewish area. We'll uncover both the distinctions and shared aspects before we conclude our visit and make our way back to Tel Aviv.
We expect to return to our original meeting location after approximately 12 hours.
