Description

When booking, you can choose between 2 different options. Both include pickup at your hotel in Montalegre at 9 am, an English-speaking guide, and return transfer:

Tour of Chaves, Boticas, & Montalegre

This option first visits Montalegre, known for its impressive 12th-century castle on the hill. Then, at the Ecomuseum of Montalegre, we learn about the history and heritage of the municipality.

The next stop is Boticas, a village featuring stone houses and a Rural Museum showcasing old agricultural tools. Here, you’ll have an hour of free time to enjoy lunch in traditional eateries (not included).

The final stop is in Chaves, where we’ll see its medieval fortress, declared a National Monument. We’ll also pass by the Roman bridge of Trajano and the Chaves hot springs before returning to Montalegre.

Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, & Vila Pouca de Aguiar

This option includes Chaves as in the previous tour, plus visits to other emblematic sites in Trás-os-Montes.

We’ll explore highlights of Vila Pouca de Aguiar and visit the Parque de Pedras Salgadas, a wooded area with uniquely shaped stones. Additionally, we’ll visit Valpaços, home to a Wine Museum detailing the local winemaking tradition. You decide which areas to visit!
