Day Trip to Mt. Olympus & Dion

We'll meet in front of the Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos in Thessaloniki and depart westward.

After an hour's drive, we'll reach the Dion archaeological site, an ancient Macedonian location featuring remnants of an ancient theater, temples, and sanctuaries.

Our visit will include the ruins of the Villa of Dionysos and the Dion Archaeological Museum, which showcases a collection of classical sculptures. We'll gain insights into the art from that period before continuing our exploration.

Next, we will visit Lithochorus, located at the base of Mount Olympus, which rises to 2,918 meters (9,573 feet). From the slopes known as the Mountain of the 12 gods, we'll walk for about 20 minutes along the Enipeas River Gorge to appreciate the scenery.

During the walk, we'll enjoy panoramic views of Mount Olympus and discuss the mythology linked to this significant mountain. Afterward, we will return to Lithochorus for lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant, where you can dine at your own pace.

Following lunch, we will head back to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, completing our tour approximately 8 hours after departure.
