Day Trip to Mt. Olympus & Dion

We'll meet in front of the Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos in Thessaloniki and move to the west of the town.

After an hour's drive, we'll arrive at the Dion archaeological site, an ancient Macedonian location featuring an ancient theater, temples, and sanctuaries that have endured through time.

Our tour continues with the ruins of the Villa of Dionysos and the Dion Archaeological Museum, home to a significant collection of classical sculptures. We will learn about the art from that period as we proceed.

Next, we'll visit Lithochorus at the foot of Mount Olympus, which stands at 2,918 meters (9,573 feet), making it Greece's highest mountain. We will walk approximately 20 minutes along the Enipeas River Gorge while taking in the views.

During the walk, we will enjoy panoramic views of Mount Olympus and hear about the mythology associated with this mountain. We will return to Lithochorus, where a traditional Greek restaurant awaits for lunch at your own pace.

After lunch, we will return to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, arriving 8 hours later.
