Day Trip to Mt. Olympus & Dion
Meet in front of the Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos in Thessaloniki for a tour to western areas. After an hour's drive, arrive at the Dion archaeological site, an ancient Macedonian site featuring an ancient theater, temples, and sanctuaries.
Continue exploring the site, including the ruins of the Villa of Dionysos and the Dion Archaeological Museum, which contains a collection of classical sculptures. Learn about the art of that period before proceeding to the next destination.
Next, visit Lithochorus, located at the base of Mount Olympus, Greece's highest mountain at 2,918 meters (9,573 feet). Walk for about 20 minutes along the Enipeas River Gorge, enjoying views of Mount Olympus and hearing about its mythology. Return to Lithochorus for lunch at a traditional Greek restaurant at your own pace.
After lunch, the group will head back to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, completing the trip in approximately 8 hours.
