Join us on a day trip to Vergina and Veria, where we'll mix archaeological exploration with a visit to a renowned religious site in Greece. Let's uncover ancient Macedonia!

Day Trip to Vergina & Veria

We'll meet next to the Statue of Venizelos and embark on this excursion to Vergina and Veria. We'll leave Thessaloniki behind to discover two cities brimming with history and culture.

First up is Veria, a city known for its religious history. St. Paul preached here on his second missionary journey. You will have 1 hour of free time to explore the Byzantine and post-Byzantine churches and stroll through the old quarters.

Next, we'll head to Vergina, known as Aegae or Egas and the first capital of the ancient Macedonian Kingdom. We will visit the New Museum of Aigai, dedicated to the history of ancient Macedonia, showcasing artefacts from Egas.

Our next stop will be the Museum of the Royal Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, we will see the royal tomb of Philip II and gold treasures dating back to the 4th century BC.

You will have free time to eat after exploring the tomb.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, arriving 7 hours later.
