Dive into Greek history on this tour of Ancient Macedonia, as we walk through Alexander the Great's former kingdom to see Pella & Edessa and visit a winery.

Greek History: A Tour of Ancient Macedonia

Meet in Salonica at your chosen meeting point to begin your day trip through Ancient Macedonia and explore various archeological sites.

Our first stop will be the renowned Pella archeological site, the birthplace of Alexander the Great. We will tour the 2,500 square meters of the site and observe the historic symposium halls and intricate 4th-century mosaics depicting scenes from Greek mythology. Guided insights will accompany our exploration of Macedonia's former capital.

Next, we will visit Edessa, meaning "tower in the water," where we will see the Karano waterfall, Greece's tallest at 70 meters. Enjoy a walk along the riverbanks and in natural parks.

Participants will have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch at local restaurants. We will then proceed to Naousa to learn about local wine tourism.

A visit to a winery will include an informative tour and a wine tasting experience paired with aperitifs. Our journey concludes with a return to the meeting point in Salonica, approximately 9.5 hours later.
