Greek History: A Tour of Ancient Macedonia

Join us in Salonica to begin a day trip through Ancient Macedonia and explore various archaeological sites in Greece. Our first stop is the renowned Pella archeological site, the birthplace of Alexander the Great. The tour covers 2,500 square meters of archaeological grounds, featuring preserved mosaic floors from the 4th century depicting Greek mythology. A knowledgeable guide will provide insights into this historic capital of Macedonia.

Next, we visit Edessa, meaning "tower in the water" in Greek. Here, we'll view the Karano waterfall, Greece's largest at 70 meters (229 feet) tall, and enjoy a walk along the riverbanks, surrounded by natural parks and scenic bridges.

You will have 1.5 hours of free time for lunch at local restaurants before heading to Naousa for the final part of the tour, focusing on local wine tourism.

At a winery, you will take a guided tour explaining the xinomavro wine-making process and enjoy a wine tasting with a selection of aperitifs. After a full day of historical and cultural experiences, we will return to Salonica, arriving approximately 9.5 hours later.
