Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet below the statue of Eleftherios Venizelos, and from there, we'll depart on a bus.
After a journey of around 3 hours, including a short coffee stop, we'll arrive at Meteora Monasteries. The 6 main monasteries in Meteora will be visible, including the Monastery of Saint Stephen, known for its sacred wooden carvings, and the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, featuring 140 steep steps.
We will also see Rousanou, notable for scenes of the martyrdom of the saints, and Varlaam Monastery, which has 16th-century frescoes. Additionally, we will view the 14th-century Great Meteoro and the monastery of St. Nicholas, known for its frescoes by Theophanes of Crete.
During the tour, we'll venture inside 2 of the monasteries, varying by the day. Following the tour, we will pass through Kalambaka and Kastraki, with a dinner break at a local restaurant.
After dining, we'll return to the meeting point in Thessaloniki, concluding the excursion after 11 hours.
