Come and discover one of Greece's hidden gems on this excursion to Meteora by train and marvel at its monasteries and landscapes.

Meteora Tour by Train

At the indicated time, your train will depart from Thessaloniki Station towards Kalambaka.

Upon arrival at Kalambaka Station, our English-speaking driver will take us to the Meteora Monasteries, located 20 minutes away. During the drive, our driver will explain the history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

At the Meteora Mountains, we'll have four hours to visit the monasteries: Great Meteoron, St. Nikolaos, Holy Trinity, St. Stephen, Varlaam, and Roussanou. Each monastery features unique history and artworks. We'll admire the exterior of all and visit the interior of one or two monasteries.

After the visit, our driver will return us to Kalambaka train station, where you can rest until your return train departs. You'll arrive back at Thessaloniki Station after a wonderful day exploring.

Some monasteries might be closed to the public, except on Saturdays and Sundays when they are all open. Note that the Great Meteor Monastery is closed on Tuesdays.
