Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet next to the sculpture of Eleftherios Venizelos on Egnatia Street. We will board a minibus and leave Thessaloniki to start the excursion to Pella and Vergina.
After a 45-minute drive, we will reach Pella, the hometown of Alexander the Great, which served as the capital of Macedonia between the 5th and 4th centuries BC. We will explore this archaeological site, learning about historical figures such as Aristotle, Euripides, Philip II, and Alexander the Great.
We will visit the site's museum to see various finds, including everyday objects and magnificent mosaic floors from the "house of Dionysus" and the "house of Helena."
Next, we will proceed to Vergina, stopping in front of the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai, where you can find the tomb of King Philip II of Macedon.
