With this ticket to the Akrotiri archeological site, you'll explore the period of the Minoan civilization and the history of a 3000-year-old city.
Why Visit Akrotiri?
Located in the south of the island of Santorini, Akrotiri is one of the most important prehistoric settlements in Europe and a well-designed archeological site. It was inhabited before the volcanic eruption in Santorini around 1600 B.C.. Discovered almost intact and covered by ash in 1866, excavations began in 1967. Findings include decorative elements, tools, and buildings, some of which reached three floors, reflecting the division of public spaces in this ancient city. The tour also covers characteristic Minoan sanctuaries and elaborate frescoes.
