Martín García Island Boat Trip

At 8:30 am, we will meet at the Estación Fluvial in Tigre to board a boat at 9 am. Once we are all on board, we will set sail on a two-hour journey across the deep blue waters of the magnificent River Plate.

Upon arrival, a guided tour will take you to discover the most important historical sites on the island. Nature and history coexist on Martín García Island, making it one of the most beautiful islands on the River Plate. This island is notably the only dry border between Argentina and Uruguay.

During the tour, we will pass by an old military prison where Juan Domingo Perón was famously confined in 1945. We will also visit the Historical Museum, Urquiza Theatre, Stone Quarries, and Chinatown, which is filled with abandoned houses covered in dense vegetation.

Another iconic location on our route is the House of Rubén Darío. Around 1 pm, we will stop at a restaurant for a meal that consists of barbecue with salad and a drink.

After lunch, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to continue exploring the island at your own pace. At 5 pm, we will meet at the dock to board the boat that will return us to Tigre.

The activity concludes at 7:45 pm back at the original starting point.
