La Quiaca & Yavi Day Trip

Cross the Quebrada de Humahuaca Gorge and head to the border between Argentina and Bolivia on our day trip to La Quiaca and Yavi. You'll visit two historic towns as well as the famous Laguna Colorada.

La Quiaca & Yavi Day Trip

Between 8:30 and 9 am, we will meet you at your hotel in Tilcara and drive north to the village of Yavi. The drive will take 2 hours 45 minutes, during which we will observe views of the mountain ranges in the Quebrada de Humahuaca.

In Yavi, we will take a guided tour, visiting the Chapel of San Francisco, the Casa Marqués del Valle de Tojo, and the water mill while learning about the history and significance of these sites.

After the tour, we will climb the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos hill, where we will learn about its legend and enjoy a view of the red Laguna Colorada. Please remember to bring your camera.

During the exploration, we will also spot petroglyphs that represent life thousands of years ago. Following this, you will have 1 hour of free time in Yavi for lunch before we continue our trip.

After lunch, we will head to La Quiaca to visit the International Bridge of Villazon, a significant border crossing between Argentina and Bolivia. We will then return you to your hotel in Tilcara, dropping off between 5:30 and 6 pm.
