La Quiaca & Yavi Day Trip

Cross the Quebrada de Humahuaca Gorge and head to the border between Argentina and Bolivia on our day trip to La Quiaca and Yavi. You'll visit two historic towns as well as the famous Laguna Colorada.

La Quiaca & Yavi Day Trip

Between 8:30 and 9 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Tilcara and drive north to the village of Yavi. The drive will take 2 hours 45 minutes, showcasing views of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.

Upon arrival in Yavi, we'll embark on a guided tour that includes the Chapel of San Francisco, the façade of the Casa Marqués del Valle de Tojo, and a water mill, among other attractions.

Next, we'll ascend the Cerro de los Ocho Hermanos hill to uncover the legend of its name. At the summit, we will enjoy views of the red Laguna Colorada. Please bring your camera for this opportunity.

During our exploration, we'll also observe numerous petroglyphs indicating daily life thousands of years ago. You'll then have 1 hour of free time in Yavi for lunch before proceeding to our next location.

After lunch, we will travel to La Quiaca and visit the International Bridge of Villazon, a significant border crossing between Argentina and Bolivia.

Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Tilcara, expected between 5:30 and 6 pm.
