Quebrada de Sapagua & Hornaditas Community Day Trip
We will begin our journey with a pickup from your accommodation in Tilcara between 8:30 and 9 am, setting off northward towards the Quebrada de Sapagua, located just a short 40-minute drive away.
Upon arrival, you will embark on a 1-hour trek through the picturesque landscapes of this remarkable mountain range, where you can admire its renowned cave paintings. Along the way, we will delve into the significance of these fascinating artworks while reflecting on the Inca period and uncovering the historical context of this region.
After concluding our hike, we will return to our transportation and continue to the Hornaditas Community. Here, the rest of the day will be devoted to exploring the age-old traditions and culture embraced by the community. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe their agricultural practices and sacred sites, as well as learn traditional skills such as weaving and cake baking.
As part of the experience, we will enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a variety of local dishes paired with a beverage, offering a taste of the local gastronomy. This meal also provides an opportunity to engage in conversation with the families from this northern Argentine village.
The day trip will conclude with a return to your hotel in Tilcara around 6 pm. We look forward to seeing you on our next adventure!
