Chichén Itzá Guided Tour
We'll meet at the scheduled time at the Chichén Itzá Archaeological Site in the north of the Yucatán Peninsula. From here, we'll begin our guided tour and travel back in time to the golden age of Mayan civilization.
Accompanied by a guide expert in local history, we'll discover why this site is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. We'll learn about the myths and realities of one of the most important Maya cities of the pre-Hispanic era, discussing architecture, culture, art, and history, while learning words in the language spoken by the Maya.
The best-known image of Chichén Itzá is the pyramid dedicated to the God Kukulkán. Known as 'The Castle' by the conquistadors, this temple dominated the region's religious life, functioning as a giant sacred calendar for the Mayans.
During our tour, we'll see the Temple of the Warriors with its thousand columns, and learn about the Mesoamerican ballgame, a sacred sport played by pre-Hispanic civilizations. We'll also discover the Temple of the Jaguars, Tzompantli, Platform of the Eagles, and more significant sites in Chichén Itzá. The tour lasts 2 hours.
