Explore one of the oldest cities in Albania and discover its fascinating historical heritage with this day trip to Shkodra from Tirana.

Shkodra Day Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet at the stairs of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. From there, we'll travel to Shkodra, the gateway to the Albanian Alps and the cultural capital of Albania.

After a journey of approximately 2 hours, we'll reach our destination. The first place we will see is Rozafa Castle, a fortress steeped in history. We'll explore the ruins of this castle, which was rebuilt by the Venetians and the Ottomans, and admire the views of the rivers surrounding Shkodra.

Then, we'll reach the city center and stroll through the main streets of Shkodra. Here, you'll have 1 hour of free time to try a dish of Albanian cuisine and grab a bite to eat.

After lunch, we'll continue our tour admiring the Lead Mosque, one of the most important Ottoman structures in the region, before we reach St. Stephen's Cathedral. This church was once home to both the Sports Palace and the seat of the Albanian Communist Women's Congress, reflecting its interesting history.

Before leaving Shkodra, you'll have 1 hour of free time to explore the city and buy a souvenir. We recommend visiting the Marubi National Museum of Photography and the local artisanal stands.

Finally, we'll begin our journey back to the starting point, where we'll say goodbye 8-9 hours after the trip begins.
