Explore one of the oldest cities in Albania and discover its fascinating historical heritage with this day trip to Shkodra from Tirana.

Shkodra Day Trip

At the designated time, we'll meet at the stairs of the Albanian National Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana. From there, we'll travel to Shkodra, the gateway to the Albanian Alps and the cultural capital of Albania.

After approximately 2 hours, we'll reach Shkodra. The first place we will visit is Rozafa Castle, a historic fortress. We will explore the ruins, rebuilt by the Venetians and the Ottomans, while enjoying views of the surrounding rivers.

Next, we'll head to the city center and stroll through the main streets of Shkodra. Here, you will have 1 hour of free time to sample Albanian cuisine and grab a meal.

After lunch, we will admire the Lead Mosque, a significant Ottoman structure, followed by St. Stephen's Cathedral, known for its history as the site of the Sports Palace and the Albanian Communist Women's Congress.

Before departing Shkodra, you'll have an additional 1 hour of free time to explore and purchase souvenirs at your leisure. The Marubi National Museum of Photography and local artisanal stands are recommended visits.

Finally, we will begin our journey back, concluding the trip 8-9 hours after it begins.
