Huamantla & Tlaxco Tour
Picks up occur between 9 and 9:30 am from your chosen meeting point, followed by a minibus journey to Huamantla. This town, situated at 2,400 meters (7874 feet) above sea level, is known for its cattle-raising traditions and Art Nouveau architecture. The tour includes a visit to a puppet museum, showcasing around 500 puppets that highlight the town's culture.
Next, the group will travel to Tlaxco, with an interim stop at José María Morelos Buenavista. Here, the Barca de la Fe, a church modeled after the ship Santa Maria from Christopher Columbus's voyage, will be visited. Following this, the tour will include a visit to a 'pulque hacienda' to see how pulque, a traditional beverage made from the agave plant's fermented sap, is produced. A tasting is included, followed by a two-course lunch with dessert and beverages at the hacienda's restaurant.
The final destination is the Magical Town of Tlaxco. Participants will learn about the town's history while admiring its colonial architecture and visit an artisan cheese factory to explore regional culinary delights. The tour concludes with a return to the starting points between 4:30 pm and 5 pm.
