History, colonial haciendas and a church in the shape of a boat are the highlights of this tour of Tlaxco. We'll visit the most iconic places of this Magical Town in the state of Tlaxcala.

Tlaxco Tour

Between 9 am and 10 am, we'll meet at the agreed meeting point and proceed by minibus to the center of Tlaxco for a walking tour focused on its history and main monuments. Located at 2500 metres (8202 feet) above sea level, Tlaxco is one of the highest towns in Mexico. The tour includes exploration of its streets, colonial architecture, first settlers, and its role in the independence of Mexico.

During the guided tour, we will enter a 17th-century hacienda to taste 'pulque', a traditional alcoholic beverage made from fermented sap of the maguey plant. The tour also features a visit to a carpentry workshop showcasing various handicrafts, including a wooden car.

We will then board a minibus to visit the Barca de la Fe, a church shaped like a boat located in the village of José María Morelos Buenavista. We will compare this church to the famous Santa Maria that accompanied Christopher Columbus in his voyage to America.

We'll conclude our tour by returning you to the starting point between 3 pm and 4 pm.
