History, colonial haciendas and a church in the shape of a boat are the highlights of this tour of Tlaxco. We'll visit the most iconic places of this Magical Town in the state of Tlaxcala.

Tlaxco Tour

Between 9 am and 10 am, we'll meet at the agreed meeting point and travel by minibus to the centre of Tlaxco for a walking tour focusing on the history and main monuments of this Magic Town. Situated at 2500 metres (8202 feet) above sea level, Tlaxco is among the highest towns in Mexico. We'll explore its streets, admiring its colonial architecture and learning about its past.

During the guided tour, we'll enter a 17th-century hacienda or estate to taste 'pulque', a traditional beverage made from the fermented sap of the maguey plant. We will also visit a carpentry workshop showcasing several pieces of handicraft, including a wooden car.

We'll continue by minibus to the Barca de la Fe, a church shaped like a boat in the village of José María Morelos Buenavista, comparing it to the famous Santa Maria from Christopher Columbus's voyage to America.

The tour will conclude between 3 pm and 4 pm, returning to the initial meeting point.
