Ever wondered what the Edo period was like in Japan? Join us on this private day trip to Kawagoe to explore "little Edo", an ancient castle town.

Private Day Trip to Kawagoe

Meet your guide at Shunjuku station and board the train for Kawagoe, a journey just under an hour. Once arrived, we will visit Kita-in temple, an ancient Buddhist shrine built in 830, renowned for its important Rakan sculptures.

After the temple, we will stroll through the city center, particularly Taisho Roman Street, to experience life in the 1910s and 20s, featuring buildings over 100 years old. We will pass the black merchant houses in the Ichiban-gai district, showcasing the Edo period. Our next stop is the Toki-No-Kane bell tower, built in the 17th century.

We will also visit Kashiya Yokocho, a street with stores selling traditional Japanese sweets. You will receive a local snack here.

After the snack, the tour concludes on Kashiya Yokocho street, where you will return to Tokyo independently.
