Want to know the secrets of a quintessential Japanese dish? In this sushi-making workshop in Tokyo, you'll learn to make your very own nigiri and maki.

Workshop Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Izumiya Akasaka building. We'll wear our chef's hats and aprons to begin the sushi-making workshop.

The class starts with the preparation of sushi rice, focusing on achieving a perfect shari, a key element in sushi making. The shaping technique will be emphasized as it influences the taste. Mastering this step is crucial.

You will also learn to grate freshly made authentic wasabi to experience its unique flavor, with guidance from the chef. Proper technique is important to avoid a harsh reaction.

The workshop will include preparing hand-rolled sushi with nori using fresh ingredients. You'll taste various selections, including uni, negitoro, hirame, kuruma-ebi, chutoro and akami sushi. A professional chef will demonstrate fish preparation and sushi techniques, with an interpreter present to convey details.

To enhance the experience, you'll enjoy a special wakame udon and a complimentary drink of your choice from beer, sake, cola, or green tea.

Before concluding, which lasts approximately 2 hours, you can take photos at the counter to commemorate the experience.
