Tour Options

When making your reservation, you can choose between three different hiking routes. All routes start at 8 am from Calzada del Pacífico road in Toluca de Lerdo and include an English-speaking guide.

Tunnels Route (7 hours)

Upon arrival at the Nevado de Toluca National Park, we'll begin a hike through a 10-kilometer route featuring trails with fir, cedar, and pine trees, encountering tunnels in the mountain along the way. Information about these tunnels will be provided during the tour. We will reach a lagoon at an altitude of over 9500 feet (3100 meters) and take a 45-minute break to enjoy the views. At 3 pm, we will return to the parking area.

Cañada Route (8 hours)

This 7-kilometer hiking route follows one of the rivers flowing down the volcano. We will explore clearings and tunnels, learning about their uses. After crossing the river, we will reach a lake with views from over 9,500 feet (2900 meters). A 45-minute break will be provided to enjoy the scenery. The activity will conclude with our return to the parking area by 3 pm.

Hill Route (9 hours)

This 13-kilometer hiking route takes us over various slopes and through tunnels. Once we reach an altitude of nearly 10,500 feet (3200 meters), we will pause for 45 minutes to relax and take photos. The trek continues along a river to a clearing, and a forest trail will help us learn about the local wildlife. At 5 pm, we will finish the activity and return to the parking area.

Meeting Point

We'll meet at 8 am on Calzada del Pacífico road. From there, you'll follow the guide in your car to the foothills of the Nevado de Toluca National Park, where we'll leave our vehicles and start the hike.
