On this tour of Tomar, discover the most iconic locations in this city and enjoy its local food.
Description
At the scheduled time we'll meet at the Tomar train station to start our tour. First, we will visit Christ's Convent, a significant monument and UNESCO World Heritage Site. This visit will last around 2 hours, including a walk through its gardens.
Next, we will head to Tomar's historic centre, crossing Sepra Pinto Street to reach Republic Square, known for its mosaic made of black and white diamonds. We will make a short stop for some local food.
We will continue to Mata dos Sete Montes, a 39-hectare park featuring various trees. Here, we will also see a miniature replica of the towers of Christ's Covent.
After this, we will visit the Pegões Aqueduct, which reaches a height of 30 metres and is composed of 180 arches. Construction began in 1593 during the reign of Phillip I of Portugal.
The final stop will be at the Castelo do Bode reservoir, which extends 60 kilometres between Tomar and nearby towns. You will enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the area.
The tour will conclude at the starting point after a duration of 10 or 11 hours.
