El Soplao Cave Day Trip

On this day trip to El Soplao Cave from Torrelavega, you'll explore one of the most famous caves in Cantabria.

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the Pabellón Municipal La Habana Vieja and travel by minibus to the El Soplao Cave.

Upon arrival at the cave's main entrance, considered one of Spain's geological wonders, we'll board the Soplao tourist train. From the train's carriages, we will see stalactites, stalagmites, columns, calcite crystals and various other formations.

Next, we'll take a guided tour of the cave's interior, learning about the mining history of Cantabria, as this cave was integral to the region's mining industry for decades.

After the cave visit, we will make a brief stop at a viewpoint on the outskirts of the village of Pechón. Here, we'll enjoy views of the Tina Menor estuary.

At the end of our visit, we will return to Torrelavega, arriving approximately 4 hours after the starting time.
